Front Street will be packed full of people on October 19 and 20 this year for the 30th annual Georgetown Boat Show. It's always a festive time, and both locals and tourists come out to enjoy the folks crafting boats under time constraints, seeing the same boats put into the Sampit River and watching whether or not they sink.
And while you are out and about taking in the festivities, you can rest assured knowing there will be plenty of restaurants open to feed you. If you crave some great Mexcian food, Alfresco's Taqueria & Cantina will be open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. You can start your day off during the event at Coffee Break Cafe with an awesome breakfast and great coffee. Open both Saturday and Sunday. And the place that never closes, Buzz's Roost, will be open and serving food and drinks. You can also enjoy a great view of the harbor, too. And who doesn't love ice cream? Sweeties Homemade Ice Cream and Sweets will be open, selling their creamy and delicious ice cream outside the store. There will be others open, so make sure you walk the street and look out for them. We hope you enjoy the annual wooden boat show and the culinary adventure of Front Street while doing so. Make sure you click the names of those restaurants above. They are hyperlinked to their Facebook pages. |
