When Joseph Hughes closed The Meat Locker, a lot of people in Georgetown thought they'd lost the butcher shop they'd come to love. It seems a protégé by the name of William Holladay has bought the former business and has decided to add his touch - or beard - to it! Holladay has just put a couple days behind him at the Bearded Butcher and it looks like all is well at 408 South Fraser Street in Georgetown, S.C. There's a trendy look to the place, but the same great quality of meats and service is there. And if you are selling Krazy K BBQ Sauce, that's a huge plus! Here's a quick look at the Bearded Butcher! I urge you all to visit Holladay and welcome his business to Georgetown! The first crisp taste of Fall has already come through Georgetown! That's an indicator the Taste of Georgetown will be upon us soon. It arrives November 3rd, from 12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Front Street in Georgetown, S.C. The Taste of Georgetown is a fundraiser for the Family Justice Center, a non-profit organization providing collaborative services for victims of domestic violence. The Taste of Georgetown is a fundraiser for the Family Justice Center, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization providing coordinated services and educational programs for victims of domestic violence. The Family Justice Center has provided services to over 850 victims of domestic violence. Obviously there is a critical need for the service and your attendance at the Taste of Georgetown helps to support this critical community service. A couple perennial restaurants are not listed to participate, but there are some newcomers to the event. Beach Burgers & BBQ, Graham's Landing on Front and Indigo Bakery are all first-timers this year! Here's a sample of what Beach Burgers & BBQ will be offering this year! Georgetown Foodland is a proud sponsor of the Taste of Georgetown! Hope to see you all out there this year!

Already known for their great burgers, bbq, ribs and fries - and having won a Simply Amazing Dish of the Month award, it's time for an expansion! Owner Tree Brightwell is rolling out her breakfast menu this Friday at 6 a.m. and from the looks of what's offered, you'll be very pleased. This now makes Beach Burgers & BBQ a go-to for breakfast, lunch and dinner in the Litchfield area! October is here and that means a new Simply Amazing Dish of the Month! We traveled to Drunken Jack's Restaurant & Lounge in Murrells Inlet. Located on what locals call "Restaurant Row" along the inlet, Drunken Jack's has been serving great food for more than 22 years. Tonight was no different. A dish stood out and was just simply amazing. It was Chef Casey's Risotto! The dish is a blackened mahi-mahi and blackened sea scallops with their award winning lobster and crab risotto, finished with their lobster cream sauce. It now picks up another award! Congrats on being October's Simply Amazing Dish of the Month! |
