 Chef and Owner Greg Metcalfe thought he had a day off. The official grand opening of Southern Comforts, Southern Dining & Seafood Shack in the Hammock Shops Village changed that. For the good, may I add. More than 25 people braved the cold evening to join in the celebration hosted by the Georgetown County Chamber of Commerce. Not only did the guests get to sample some tasty offerings, they also heard from Metcalfe his plans to open a second restaurant in the previous location. It'll be a tex-mex flavorful explosion. The restaurant featured today has a 120-seat event center that can host all of your holiday festivities. So, if you are a business trying to decide where to have your Christmas party, this is the spot! Enjoy the photos from today's grand opening and come experience a great meal!   Incredible Edibles has been "crafting one-of-a-kind, delicious special event, groom's and wedding cakes" for more than 20 years in Pawleys Island, S.C. Now, they'll have a retail location to satisfy all the sweet-seekers who already know how good those cakes are. People are invited to get a sneak peek on July 3rd, before the grand opening. Southern Comforts is moving to The Hammock Shops!
​Southern Comforts is moving to the Hammock Shops and changing up to SoCo's Southern Dining & Seafood Shack serving our same great Southern food with a good old seafood shack feel. We will be dishing up as much local seafood as we can find and frying the buttermilk chicken that you know best. Visit our SoCo's Cakes & Coffee from 9 until 9 . Book your special occasion in our special event center overlooking the Gazebo. All of this in the middle of the Hammock Shops opening in early July. Oh and don't forget the live music in the Gazebo on Saturday nights every weekend, Just like the Good Old days
After the move, Southern Comforts plans to open a Tex-Mex themed "Baja Grille" in the former location.
 There's a new restaurant in town. Chain restaurant Sam's Southern Eatery has opened in Maryville. Here's a little about them. "Sam’s Southern Eatery was founded on an idea of bringing great Southern cuisine to the people. Gilbert's Ice Cream is the newest eatery addition to Georgetown and will hold its official grand opening, ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday, June 1, 2017, at 5 p.m. They have been open since May 3rd. Gilbert's Ice Cream is a family owned business that prides ourselves on premium ingredients. All of our ice cream is handcrafted in our kitchen along with our baked goods.
